Anticipating Togo!

On February 10th, 2008 I will begin my journey to Togo, West Africa in order to spend 10 days with my brother and his family. For the past eight years Bryan, Tracey, Isaac, Graham, and Owen have engaged in the difficult practice of being the presence of Christ to the Kabiye people. I am proud of them, I love them, they lead me in more ways than they know.

I'm not a big fan of blogs. Partly because I could spend all day reading them and partly because there is already too much noise in the world. Do we really need every other person adding to that noise? I faithfully read only five blogs (three of which are close family) and so the decision to have a blog goes against all that I believe is pure and holy. In this case, however, it is a pretty good medium. I hope to post pictures, reflections, and stories while I am traveling in Togo with two of my best friends (my two older brothers). To those friends and family who will be following my trip through this blog, I can't wait to share more about my journey with you face to face. To those who happen upon this blog randomly, I hope you enjoy and are encouraged by what you see and hear. To all parties involved, you must know that I probably won't engage in any great debate based on some story, reflection, or picture that you have an issue with. If it helps, you can blame it on the unclean drinking water.

Until later...peace!
